The Trust’s Estates in Gloucestershire
The Barnsley Village Estate
The Barnsley Village Estate, one of the smallest of the Trust’s holdings, was purchased in 1976 from the Wykeham-Musgrave family. The estate extends to about 900 acres and comprises a substantial dairy and arable farm, small areas of woodland totalling about 35 acres and five let cottages.
As the name suggests, the estate is centred on the village of Barnsley, an attractive Cotswold settlement in which sits Barnsley House, once the home of the famous designer Rosemary Verey, and the site of her well-known garden.
