As a local landowner, The Ernest Cook Trust was asked to respond to the CDC Local Plan consultation, given Fairford is regarded by them as a ‘principal settlement’ with a desire for growth.
We have decided to promote the land as we have a long-standing heritage of doing so, considerately and sensitively, in what is often a complex and imperfect situation. We think we can influence a more positive outcome, by engaging early. Any receipts from the development will support the growth of the charity and allow us to:
o Invest back into our estates, our places and the environments we care for
o Offer outdoor learning and education programmes for local schools
o Fund outdoor learning grants to schools and community organisations
