We need to talk about Covid
The effects of COVID-19 have been deep and far-reaching for everyone. The Trust and in particular our grant giving activities are no exception.
From spring 2020 our immediate response was to divert funding to support priority organisations within our current grantee database. This included providing funds to equip vulnerable students at over 50 schools with the technology required to participate in remote learning during Lockdown.
We also decided to close our usual grant application window for any grant programme, until further notice.
While this was a difficult decision, it has given us the opportunity to review our educational grant giving activity.
In Summer 2020, we were able to successfully launch our new Green Influencers Scheme.
In Autumn 2020, The OWL Collaboration went live. This funding-plus programme was devised as an immediate response to the trauma experienced by young people during COVID-19.
From spring 2021, we hope to provide further information on the reopening of applications for our already established Environmental Engagement Grants. These include the ECT Outdoor Essentials, ECT Apprenticeships & Scholarships and ECT Outdoor Learning Officer grants.
Our usual educational visits on the Trust’s estates continue to be subject to the prevailing COVID-19 restrictions. Where it is safe and possible to do so, we are organising some visits, with the necessary safety measures in place. Please contact us for the latest information.
