Community Christmas Trees
The Trust’s trees at the centre of community festivities
The age-old tradition of donating Christmas trees to communities linked to the Trust’s estates continues this year.
The annual flurry of activity begins at our Christmas tree plantation, where trees are selected and transported to local villages.
This year, our trees are a focal point for the communities of Filkins, Hatherop, Eastleach, Slimbridge and Fairford. We have also provided a tree to Coldharbour Parish Council on our Hartwell estate, near Aylesbury.
Steve Jones, Fairford Estate Ranger oversees this annual festive operation, “It’s very much a joint effort, with the Trust’s local tenant farmers lending a hand with the heavy lifting to make sure every tree is delivered safely.”
The Ernest Cook Trust is pleased to support local parish and town councils and local churches in this way. The special gift of trees for everyone to enjoy will hopefully help to add some local Christmas cheer, with our very best wishes for a very Happy Christmas.
